The Institute
The Institute holds lectures and does research in the field of hydrologic engineering and water resources management at the Ruhr-University Bochum.
We deal mainly with water quantity issues in the area of the surface waters.
Our lectures/courses are part of the Bachelor's and Master's Curriculum of "Civil Engineering" and "Environment Engineering and Resources Management (URTM)".
Our research activities are focused on two groups of problems:
Environmental Engineering

Determining water availability, design floods, flood forecasts and climate change impacts on the hydrological cycle. Development of mathematical methods and models for determining the available water supply, for flood dimensioning, use in flood forecasting systems or for assessing the impact of changes (climate, land use) on water resources
